State Administration Council Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win addresses a meeting of the selection committee for presenting honorary titles and medals for 2022

     A meeting of the selection committee for presenting honorary titles and medals for 2022 took place at Areindmar Hall of Office No (8), Nay Pyi Taw, at 2 pm today with an address by Committee Patron State Administration Council Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win.

Also present at the meeting were committee members, union ministers and officials. Speaking at the meeting, the Vice-Senior General said today’s meeting was organized by the selection committee for presenting honorary titles and medals for 2022.

For presenting honorary titles and medals to those who made their energetic efforts in various sectors in state-building, those who served  at risk of their lives in safeguarding Our Three Main National Causes, the country’s national policy, those who worked hard in accord with the political, economic and social objectives for community peace and tranquillity and emergence of a modern developed country, those who were able to make innovations of global standard in arts and science and other fields  and  those  who  became proficient in literature and fine arts, and 12 kinds of honorary performance medals to those who served their duties outstandingly in their respective sectors and those who made their contributions to human resource development by using their respective skills, the tentative selection committees and the selection committee will make step-by-step selections and present the honorary titles and medals on Independence Day which falls on 4 January after the State Administration Council has issued a notification.  

The laypeople, Tatmadaw members, Myanmar Police Force members and civil service personnel who served the best interests of the State in 2021 will be presented with honorary titles and medals. Moreover, for presenting gallantry and performance honorary medals to the civil servants who served their duties at risk of their lives during the time of the present government and the civil servants who served their duties outstandingly in respective sectors in line with the guidance of the State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister,  selection tasks will be carried out in accord with the 2009 honorary title and medal provision and the 2014 honorary title and medal provision and supplementary provisions. This meeting will make further reviews and selections and report to the Union government for presenting titles and medals in accordance with the meeting solutions.   

 Similarly, regarding Sasana awards, reports on Sanghas, nuns and Buddhist devotees sent by Nay Pyi Taw Council, region or state governments and foreign missions and scrutinized and submitted by the Scrutinizing Team to Present Awards on Sasana will be put forward to the Union Government through collectively scrutinizing them so that the Sanghas, nuns and Buddhist devotees could be presented the awards and medals in 2022.

With regard to honorary awards and medals that are annually presented on  Independence Day which falls on January 4, coordinated and collaborated discussions on tentatively recommended reports by the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Religious Affairs are to be made to be able to correctly present the awards and medals to Sanghas, nuns, Tatmadaw members, Myanmar Police Force members, civil servants and the people who deserve to be honoured so that their descendants will be proud of their performance and ability.

 Then, Secretary of the Scrut-inizing Committee and Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Maj-Gen Soe Tint Naing reported and briefed on the progress of the tasks being taken.

Next, the attendees at the meeting reported on presenting Myanmar Police Force’s medals on courage and performance, 12 categories in the honorary medal on performance, Tatmadaw’s medals on courage and performance and Sasana awards followed by the additional reports by the ministers and officials. The Vice-Senior General gave necessary instructions on their reports.
