The waterfalls are located near Pwe Kauk Village between Mandalay-Lashio railroad and motor road. As an engineering training battalion stationed at the site of the waterfalls and defeated insurgents in 1949, when PyinOoLwin was occupied by the insurgents, a resort was established at the site for posterity to enable them to commemorate the incident.

Due to poor management of the surroundings, the existence of a large number of shops, littering and deforestation, the environment and ecosystem of the area were damaged. Therefore, the waterfalls were upgraded and conservation tasks were carried out in accordance with the instructions given by the Senior General when he inspected the site. As the natural water purification system is used in the waterfalls, visitors can do sporting activities healthily in the clean water. There are three waterfalls at the site and the first LED glass bridge in Myanmar that meets international standards was built to enable visitors to enjoy the view under the bridge excitedly. As the city of flowers is a tourism hub, various kinds of flowering plants are grown in the town and annual flower festivals are organized in the town. With the aim of giving pleasure to the visitors,  the resort was upgraded by building a glass bridge, suspension bridges, log houses, coffee shops, jungle footpath, recreation sites, children’ playgrounds as well as other features for safety and rescue operations.
