Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, together with senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin, Eastern Command Commander Maj-Gen Hla Moe and officials, met with officers and other ranks from Loikaw Station and their families today.

Addressing the meeting, the Vice-Senior General said Tatmadaw members have a 24-hour duty to carry out national defence tasks. As such, they need to work with great diligence and an unyielding spirit. In conducting military and security operations, they need to correctly apply the military skills they have been taught and fully use arms and ammunition they are equipped with. Only then, will they be able to better protect the lives and property of the people.

In this regard, unity in the Tatmadaw is crucial. With the already-existing step-by-step reporting system and self-expression of opinion within the Tatmadaw to fulfil the needs of Tatmadaw members and their families, responsible officials needs to do correct things, deal with the reporting and take prompt and necessary action for problem-solving.

It is necessary for officers, other ranks and their families to have access to entitlements and welfare such as salaries, allowances, ration, accommodation, travel, meals, health and education provided by the State and the Tatmadaw without delays.

Tatmadaw members and their families for their part need to serve their duties dutifully.

They also need to be healthy to be able to carry out family duties.

So, they need to live in line with the health guidelines adopted by the higher level departments.

Next, the Vice-Senior General presented foodstuffs to the officers, other ranks and their families.

After the meeting, the Vice-Senior General and party cordially greeted them.

Then, the Vice-Senior General and party went to the local military hospital in Loikaw where he comforted the patients, presented gifts and attended to the needs after hearing reports on requirements by officials.

Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Myanmar Police Force Chief Maj-Gen Zin Min Htet, member of the entourage, visited the office of the State Police Force in Loikaw where he met MPF members and their families and explained security matters. He then attended to the needs after hearing reports and provided food.
