State Administration Council offers rice, edible oil, salt, pulses, cash donations for monks in Sarthintaik monasteries in Monywa

     A ceremony to offer rice, edible oil, salt, pulses and cash donations for monks in Sarthintaik monasteries in Monywa by the State Administration Council was held at the prayer hall in Yankin monastery this morning.

Present at the ceremony were monks and Sayadaws from seven Sarthintaik monasteries in Monywa led by State Ovadacariya Maha Vijjasippam Monastery Sayadaw Abhidhaja Maha Ratha Guru Bhaddanta Suriya and Yankin Monastery Sayadaw Dwipitikadhara Dwipitika Kovida Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Panna Vamsa, Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo of the SAC and wife, members of the SAC, union ministers, Chief Minister of Sagaing Region U Myat Kyaw and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, Com mander of North West Command Maj-Gen Than Htike and officials.

First, the Senior General and wife and party received the five precepts from the Yankin Monastery Sayadaw and listened to Metta Sutta recited by the Sayadaw and monks.

Then, the Senior General and wife offered alms, cash donations, rice, edible oil, salt and pulses to Maha Vijjasippam Monastery Sayadaw, Yankin Monastery Sayadaw and Dhamma Paragu Monastery Sayadaw.

Afterward, the congregation offered alms to Sayadaws and monks.

Then, the Senior General and wife and the congregation listened to the Anumodana sermon delivered by Yankin Monastery Sayadaw and shared merits. The Senior General supplicated propagation of the Sasana and regional development and stability to the Sayadaws and sought sermons from the Sayadaws.

At the ceremony, the SAC offered 181 bags of rice, 326 visses of edible oil, 272 visses of salt, 326 visses of pulses, 163 visses of vermicelli for 791 monks from Sarthintaik monasteries in Monywa and Ks-5 million each for Sarthintaik monasteries, totalling Ks- 35 million.
