A ceremony to present cash donations made by well-wishers under the arrangement of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture for monasteries and monastic education schools damaged by Cyclone Mocha in Rakhine State was held in the cave of the Lawka Nanda Pagoda in Sittwe in Rakhine State this morning and was attended by members of the Sangha led by Presiding Nayaka Sayadaw of Nanda Rama Pariyatti Buddhist Learning Centre in Sittwe Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Ganthavacaka Pandita Sayadaw Bhaddanta Nanda Siri and Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and party and well-wishers, donors and guests.

First, the Vice-Senior General and the congregation received the five precepts from the presiding Nayaka Sayadaw and offered alms to members of the Sangha.

Then, Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Daw Nu Mya Zan presented Ks-106 million for monasteries and monastic education schools hit by Cyclone Mocha in Rakhine State to Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin.

Afterward, Township Ovadacariya Presiding Nayaka Sayadaw of Tat Oo Hsu Taung Pyae Pariyatti Buddhist Learning Centre Maha Saddhamma Jotika Dhaja Agga Maha Ganthavacaka Pandita Sayadaw Bhaddanta Nannavamsa delivered the merit sharing sermon for donations and the ceremony concluded with three-time recitation of Buddha Sasanam Ciram Titthatu.

Today's Ks- 106 million cash donations included Ks- two million made by Ywa Oo Monastery Sayadaw of Paunglaunglay Village in Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region Saddhamma Jotika Dhaja Dr Bhaddanta Vijobasa Linkaravivamsa, Ks- 100 million made by U Wai Chin Hai and family of the Hanley Group in Laukkai in Shan State (North) and Ks-four million made by U Sithu Win and family of the Guardian Academy Private School.
