SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win watches 2023 football tourney of universities of various ministries and gives away honorary awards

    The final match of the 2023 football tourney of universities of various ministries, held with the objective “From university selection to national selection” was played at Wunna Theikdi Sports Stadium here this evening, attended by Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win who gave away honorary awards.

Among the spectators were SAC members, union level officials, union ministers, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chair, deputy ministers, permanent secretaries, directors general, rectors, deputy directors-general, members of the tourney organizing committee, officials, managers, coaches and athletes of football teams, university students, faculty members, staff and families of ministries and fans.

The final match between Education Ministry A team and Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation team began at 3 pm, and the former beat the latter 6-1 and won the championship trophy.

After the match, SAC member Dr Kyaw Tun presented medal and honorary cash award to best goal keeper Saw Kyaw Khant No of MoE A team, SAC member Dr Aung Kyaw Min to best defender Khun Win Kyaw of Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation team, SAC member Dr Hmu Htan to best midfielder Htet Myat Min of MoNREC team, SAC member U Maung Ko to best forward Ko Ko Lin of Ministry of Border Affairs team, SAC member Mahn Nyein Maung to top goal scorer Zaw Zaw Htike of MoE A team, SAC member Poe Reh Aung Thein to player of the match Than Myat Soe of MoE A team.

Afterwards, SAC member Lt-Gen Yar Pyae presented individual medals and honorary cash award to third place winner MoBA team, SAC member Admiral Tin Aung San to second place winner MoNREC team, SAC member General Mya Tun Oo to the first place winner MoE A team.

    The Vice-Senior General presented the championship trophy and a honorary cash award of Ks-10 million to the MoE A team.

After the prize presentation ceremony, the Vice-Senior General and party cordially greeted the footballers of the tourney.

Eleven teams took part in the football tourney, which was held from 22 June up to this day in three groups.
