Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing meets persons taking part in rehabilitation activities in Sittwe and donors preparing free meal for storm victims

    Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, his entourage and the Rakhine State chief minister, the Western Command commander and officials, visited this morning the persons who were taking part in rehabilitation activities in Sittwe, Rakhine State, and families of SKY NET, Myanmar Licensed Contractors Association (MLCA), Myanmar Licensed Contractors Public Company Limited (MLCP), Myanmar-India-China International Friendship& Economic Development Association (MICA), and Friends of All Religions, cooking vegetable biryani under the 50- day charity program for the convenience of storm victims.

The Senior General and party were welcomed by officials of the charity program. They observed the preparations to send packages of vegetable biryani to volunteers taking part in rehabilitation and to the victims. The Senior General and party gave words of encouragement and presented honorary cash awards to volunteers.

On behalf of the people of Rakhine State, officials of Rakhine Buddhist Association, Christian Association, Islam Association, and Hindu Association of the charity program, expressed profound thanks to the Senior General who was visiting the storm-hit Rakhine State and looking into the requirements in person.The officials said they were truly encouraged by his visit to their program and were also relieved from tiredness caused by the daily charity activities to a certain degree.

The religious associations wished the Senior General and wife and government officials health and prosperity and prayed for them to serve the interest of the people and nation more and success in their work.

The Senior General and party arrived at Tat Oo Hsutaung Pyae Pariyatti School in Sittwe and presented boxes of vegetable biryani donated by SKY NET, Myanmar Licensed Contractors Association (MLCA), Myanmar Licensed Contractors Public Company Limited (MLCP), Myanmar-India-China International Friendship& Economic Development Association (MICA), and Friends of All Religions, under 50-day charity program, to members of Fire Services Department who were carrying out rehabilitation activities.

The Senior General said Fire Services Department members played a vital role in rehabilitation activities. Thanks to their efficiency they could accomplish the work to a certain degree in a short time. He then presented honorary cash awards for them through an official.

In the afternoon, the Senior General and wife and party visited Rakhine State Museum in Sittwe where they were welcomed by Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Daw Nu Mya Zan, Director of Department of Archaeology and National Museum (Sittwe branch) Daw Aye Nilar and officials. The Senior General and party were conducted round showrooms of Rakhine ancient cities, Rakhine literature, Rakhine ancient coins, Rakhine ethnic groups, Rakhine traditions, Rakhine State and Buddhist culture, traditional kyin sports. The Senior General asked for more information and looked into the requirements. He then signed the visitor’s book.

During inspection of Danyawady Sports Grounds, the Senior General and party heard a report presented by Deputy Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Dr Soe Win. In response, the Senior General gave guidance to officials on building a sports ground that houses indoor stadium, modern tracks and stands, and also a modern swimming pool.
