    A delegation led by Mr. Deng Xijun, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, who attended the  Eighth Anniversary of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), made a courtesy call on Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General  Min Aung Hlaing at the office of the SAC Chairman here this afternoon. 

The Senior General was accompanied by SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, SAC member Union Minister for Home Affairs, National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee Chairman Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and officials. Together with Mr. Deng Xijun were his delegation members and officials from the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar.

First, the Senior General expressed thanks to the delegation for attending Myanmar’s crucial peace anniversary on behalf of China. The Special Envoy said he was glad and honored to witness that the event was successfully and grandly held. 

Next, both sides cordially ex-changed views and discussed the efforts being made by the government and the Tatmadaw standing firmly on the NCA route for domestic peace and China’s assistance, China’s staunch support for Myanmar’s peace process, and non-acceptance of any acts breaking up the country, Myanmar’s focus on border stability and development with China, unacceptable situations based in Myanmar’s border areas that can affect the interests of the neighboring countries, some ethnic armed organizations working only on agreements and commitments without signing any legitimate treaty like the NCA and the government’s calls for ensuring perpetual peace by taking the NCA route which is strongly legitimate,  the Tatmadaw taking a firm stand on the path of multi-party democracy, bilateral cooperation in eliminat-ing online gambling and online fraud, measures to enhance the bilateral cooperation, and measures for the re-acceptance of those who left Rakhine State.

After the call, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented a gift to Mr. Deng Xijun, and had a documentary photo taken.
