As the country is resided by different national races, there are abundant traditions and fine arts of different national races. With the origination of mankind in the land according to the history of the country, there are different cultural traditions, fossil evidence, handicrafts, costumes, artistic songs and dances and musical instruments in the evolution of the country, which has its own literature, language and cultural traditions.

However different musical instruments are, all of them are categorized as five kinds of Myanmar instruments such as brass, strings, leather, air and percussion.

Although different dances such as the Kachin Manaw dance, the Kayah flagstaff dance, the Kayin choreographed group dance, the Chin bamboo pole dance, the Myanmar short drum dance, the Mon Brahminy duck couple dance, the Rakhine Shindai dance and the Shan Kinnari Kinnara dance seem to be different, they all are based on rhythm and percussion and Myanmar choreography such as movements of body parts such as the head, the waist, the feet and the hands. Therefore, Myanmar cultural traditional fine arts are invaluable genuine legacies of ancestors of the entire national people.

Each and every citizen of the country can be proud of such invaluable treasures which have been in existence in history for a long time as national characteristics in the world. Similarly. they must be utilized as a bridge for unity among national races.

It is not an easy job to participate in the Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition. Recording of movie and videos and audios could be repeatedly done until satisfaction but mistakes cannot be made at all in the competition as the participants directly present their performance in it. Once a mistake is made by a participant, it could be difficult for the participant to win a prize.

It is learnt that the participation in the competition is more serious. Therefore, all the participants’ great effort in the competition to promote the fine arts is recognized.

Today, with the development of technology, foreign cultures including the Western countries’ are pervading minor countries like ours. If our citizens and youths are fond of the foreign cultures ignoring our own culture and tradition, our national spirit will be lessened. In order that such a risk will not happen, officials are seriously urged to safeguard our culture and tradition from all sides.

Besides the well-experienced experts, the new blood of youths, with the achievement of success in the competition, are urged to preserve national characteristics and make efforts together in cooperation for strengthening ethnic brethren and relaying our culture and tradition.
