Delegation led by Thai Air Chief Marshal and wife arrives, receives welcome with guard of honor, attends meeting and dinner, conducts study tour

    At the invitation of Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung, a delegation led by Commander-in-Chief of Royal Thai Air Force Air Chief Marshal Punpakdee Pattanakul and wife arrived here this morning on an official goodwill visit to the Republic of Union of Myanmar.

They were welcomed at Nay Pyi Taw Airport by senior military officers from Tatmadaw (Air), the Thai Military Attaché to Myanmar and officials.

The Thai delegation visited the Memorial to Fallen Heroes (Nay Pyi Taw), laid a wreath in front of the commemorative stone pillar and saluted the heroes who sacrificed life for the State and Tatmadaw.

 The Thai Air Chief Marshal signed the visitor’s book.

In the afternoon, Commander-in- Chief (Air) General Tun Aung welcomed Air Chief Marshal Punpakdee Pattanakul with the Guard of Honor at Bayintnaung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw.

First, General Tun Aung and Air Chief Marshal Punpakdee Pattanakul took the salute of the Guard of Honour and inspected it.

After the bilateral introduction of officials of both countries, Air Chief Marshal Punpakdee Pattanakul signed the visitor’s book of the villa.

General Tun Aung held talks with the goodwill delegation led by Air Chief Marshal Punpakdee Pattanakul at the parlour of the villa.

Cordial discussions were centered on exchange of Myanmar-Thai goodwill visits, training programs, further improvement of relations between the two air forces, natural disaster relief and rescue programs, technological exchange programs, and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief-HADR.

After the meeting, General Tun Aung and Air Chief Marshal Punpakdee Pattanakul exchanged commemorative badges and posed for documentary photo together with attendees.

Also present together with General Tun Aung were senior military officers from Tatmadaw (Air). Air Chief Marshal Punpakdee Pattanakul was accompanied by senior military officers from Royal Thai Air Force.

In the evening, General Tun Aung hosted dinner in honor of Air Chief Marshal Punpakdee Pattanakul and wife at Kissapanadi Hall, Bagan building, Jasmine Hotel. They cordially enjoyed the dinner together with members of the delegation and senior military officers from Tatmadaw (Air). Entertainment programs were staged before and during the dinner.

The delegation led by Air Chief Marshal Punpakdee Pattanakul and wife paid homage to Uppatasanti Pagoda in Pobbathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, and watched the white elephants in the evening. They also paid homage and offered flowers, water, lights to Maravijaya Buddha Image, the tallest stone Buddha Statue in seated posture in the world, in the compound of Buddha Park, Dekkhinathiri Township. They were conducted round the stone tablet pagodas and religious buildings.
