The final match and prizegiving ceremony of the Inter-Ministry’s Football Tournament (Men) in commemoration of the 76th Anniversary Independence Day took place this evening at Wunna Theikdhi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw, and Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing watched the match and gave away prizes.
Among the spectators were SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, SAC members, Union level persons, Union ministers, the chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, senior military officers, the chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, deputy ministers, managers, coaches and players from the sport teams of various ministries, officials and staff from the ministries and officials from Myanmar Football Federation.
In the final match, the Ministry of Planning and Finance team played against the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs team.
The Ministry of Planning and Finance team scored an opening goal at the 8th minute of the game. Then, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs team scored an equalizing goal at the 11th minute and scored more goals at the 16th and 18th minutes, so it took a 3-1 lead. However, the Ministry of Planning and Finance scored a goal at the 42nd minute of the game.
After that, the second half of the game continued and at the 47th minute of the game, the Ministry of Planning and Finance team scored an equalizing goal, and the two sides continued to compete with each other with three goals each. During the rest of the game, they fought hard to get a winning goal, but neither side could score a goal, and the game ended in a draw at the end of the 90 minutes of normal time, so the first half of overtime had to be played.
The match continued for 30 minutes of overtime. At the 18th minute of overtime, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs team took the lead with a strong kick from outside the 18-yard line. At the end of the game, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs team deservedly won against the Ministry of Planning and Finance team by 4-3.
After the competition, the awarding ceremony continued.
Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein and SAC members Khun San Lwin, Dr Ba Shwe, Dr Hmu Htan and Mann Nyein Maung presented honorary medals and cash awards.
Next, SAC member Lt-Gen Nyo Saw presented individual medals and cash awards to the Ministry of Construction team, the fourth winner, SAC member Lt-Gen Yar Pyae to the Ministry of Home Affairs team, the third winner and SAC member General Mya Tun Oo to the Ministry of Planning and Finance team, the second winner.
After that, SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo awarded individual medals to the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs team that won the first prize.
Then, the Senior General awarded the prize money and trophy to the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs team and cordially greeted the players.
