Parade of 79th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day held; Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing delivers address

    The Parade of the 79th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day took place at Nay Pyi Taw military parade ground on 27 March evening with an address by Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing.

Military personnel of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), female parade company of the Tatmadaw (Army), members of Myanmar Police Force and female parade company of MPF in columns which would participate in the parade ceremony took positions at the Thittat parade ground and participated in it on the parade agenda.

Then the Bagpipe Band and the Central Military Band took the designated position in the parade ground.

Then, the flag bearers led by Parade Commander Maj-Gen Thein Zaw, followed by Anawyahtar Column led by Column Commander Brig-Gen San Yu Naing comprising guard of honor, the parade companies representing the Directorate of Artillery, Office of Chief of Air Defence Troops, Directorate of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Directorate of Medical Services, Northern Command, Eastern Central Command (company 1) and South-East Command.

Kyansittha column led by Column Commander Brig-Gen Zaw Myint Oo comprising Guard of Honour, parade companies representing Directorate of Signals, Directorate of Amoured Vehicles, Directorate of Ordnance, Office of Chief of Military Equipment Production, North-East Command, Triangle Region Command (company 2) and Coastal Region Command.

Bayintnaung column led by Column Commander Brig-Gen Tin Maung Than, comprising guard of honor, parade companies of Office of Commander-in-Chief (Navy), Office of Commander-in-Chief (Navy) (female technician company), Office of Commander-in- Chief (Navy) (company 1, 2 and 3), Yangon Command and North-West Command.

Aung Zeya column led by Column Commander Brig-Gen Ye Yint Win, comprising guard of honor, parade companies representing Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army) (female company), Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army) (female company 1,2 and 3), Office of Commander- in-Chief (Army) (female technician company 1,2 and 3).

Hsinbyushin column led by Column Commander Brig-Gen Myo Min Tun comprising guard of honor, parade companies representing Office of Commander-in-Chief (Air), Office of Commander-in-Chief (Air) (female technician company), Office of Commander-in-Chief (Air) (company 1,2 and 3),

Western Command, and Central Command.

Bandoola column led by Column Commander Brig-Gen Zaw Hein Kyaing comprising guard of honor, airborne parade company, parade companies representing Directorate of Signals, Directorate of Supply and Transport, Nay Pyi Taw Command, Eastern Command, and Southern Command.

Aung San column led by column commander Police Brigadier General Zaw Lin Tun comprising the guard of honor company, the parade company representing Myanmar Police Force (Women), the parade companies (1) and (2) representing MPF (Women), and the parade companies (1), (2), (3) and (4) representing MPF (Men),together with the military bands marched towards the parade ground, according to the agenda.

During the parade, wife of the Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the Vice Chairman of the SAC Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Daw Than Than Nwe, the wife of the Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air), the wife of the Commander-in-Chief (Navy), the wife of the Commander-in-Chief (Air) and wives of senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief garlanded personnel in the columns. Similarly, officers, other ranks and families from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), the Nay Pyi Taw Command and respective stations, members of the Myanmar Police Force and families, film and music artistes and local residents warmly greeted the parade columns with garlands along the road. Tatmadaw personnel and members of the MPF marched into the parade ground by chanting military songs in patriotic spirit and took designated positions.

Present at the parade ceremony were Deputy Minister of Defence of Russian Federation Colonel General Alexander Vasilyevich Fomin and party, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Thiri Pyanchi Sithu Maung Maung Aye, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Vice-Admiral Zeya Kyawhtin Zwe Win Myint, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Zeya Kyawhtin Sithu Tun Aung, the secretary, joint secretary and members of the SAC, union level officials, senior military officers from the Office of Commander-in-Chief, families of the Thirty Comrades, families of retired commanders-in-chief, retired senior Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) officers, Independence Grade I, Grade II and Grade II Hmawgun Award winners, advisers, deputy ministers, retired Tatmadaw member ambassadors, Nay Pyi Taw Council members, military attaches and officials of foreign missions, representatives of NCA signatory EAOs, chairs and officials of political parties, families and relatives of Aung San Thuriya Title holders, Thiha Thura, Thura and military gallantry title and gallantry certificate winner soldiers and families and relatives, members of Myanmar War Veterans Organization, members of people’s militia (transformed), original people’s militia, border guard central advisory and control group, officials of Myanmar Police Force, fire brigade and Myanmar Red Cross Society, officials and staff of ministries, officials of YMBA, Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation, Myanmar Maternal and Child Welfare Association and Interfaith Friendship Association (Central), artistes who took party in movies honoring the Armed Forces Day, winners of marching song, military song, poem, short story, novel competitions, well-wishers who made donations commemorating the Armed Forces Day, officials of Myanmar Press Council, Motion Picture, Thabin and Music associations, and strategic studies, members of universities training corps, teachers and students of National Races Development University, invited guests, and local and foreign media.

Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing arrived at the parade ground where the armed forces day parade was held and took the position on the dais. Tatmadaw members and MPF members from parade columns saluted him.

The Senior General inspected the parade columns.

They all saluted the State flag and fallen Tatmadaw members and recited four oaths.

The Senior General delivered an address. (The full text of the address is reported separately.)

Then, Tatmadaw members and MPF members from parade columns led by Parade Commander Maj-Gen Thein Zaw saluted the Senior General and left the parade ground.

When the parade columns marched past the Senior General, MTX-1A and PT-6 aeroplanes installed with 79 logo formation illumination in honor of the 79th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day, two H-125 helicopters with trail formation, Bell-206 helicopters with trail formation, two Eurocpoters with trail formation, two H-125 helicopters with Echelon formation, two Bell-206 helicopters with echelon formation, a Beech 1900D freighter flying along 295 degree route from eastern 45 degree from the view desk, two Su-30 SME fourth generation multipurpose heavy fighters with echelon formation twice, a MiG-29 multipurpose fighter launching flares from the straightening point of the view desk showed demonstration to salute the Senior General.

The Senior General cordially greeted the distinguished guests and left the parade ground.

Then, the parade of the 79th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day successfully concluded.

Bronze statues of three emperors who established first, second and third Myanmar empires and the torch and emblems of the 79th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day can be seen in the Nay Pyi Taw parade ground where the 79th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day parade was held. Moreover, flags of Burma Independence Army, Burma Defence Army, Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), directorates of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), colorful flags of military commands and divisions are being hoisted.

This year, illuminations for military columns, truss beams, light boxes, lighting poles are arranged along the route where parade columns marched. The archway of the parade ground is decorated with LED strip lights in colors representing the parade columns. Moreover, lightings including drop blubs, up light program me LED strip lights and multicolor lights are also decorated along both sides of the road. The banner bearing welcome to the parade columns, State flag and flags of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) are decorated with lighting effects. In addition, trees in front of the dais are also equipped with handmade lightings, and two starts of three king statues with LED strip lights. Furthermore, flag light boxes and LED strip lights are also decorated along the route where the Senior General would leave.

Additionally, as a gesture of honoring the 79th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day, posters depicting the movements of soldiers from the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) to ensure sharpening of patriotism are erected along Yangon-Mandalay Highway and Pinlaung junction. Moreover, the mottos of Tatmadaw are hung in Myanmar and English along the route to the parade ground.
