    Final and prize-presentation ceremony of 2024 inter-State/ Region U-25 Men’s Football Tourney was held at Wunna Theikdi Football Stadium here this evening, attended by Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who gave away prizes.

Also present were Joint SAC Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, SAC members, union ministers, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chair, senior military officers, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander, deputy ministers, managers, coaches and athletes of sports teams from regions and states, officials and staff of ministries, officials of Myanmar Football Federation and sports enthusiasts.

Kachin State team and Yangon Region team met in the final.

Although the two finalists put pressure on each other in the entire regular time, the match ended in a goalless draw. During the extra time, Yangon Region team got the opening goal in the 4th minute. Kachin State teams played with all-out efforts and scored the equalizer in the 24th minute. In the penalty shootout, Yangon Region team won with a 3-2 result.

At the prize-presentation ceremony, SAC members U Yan Kyaw, Khun San Lwin, Dr Ba Shwe, Dr Hmu Htan and Mahn Nyein Maung presented medals, honorary awards and cash awards to best players, SAC member Daw Dwe Bu, to fourth-prize winner Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw team, SAC member Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, to third-prize winner Kayin State team, and General Mya Tun Oo, to runner-up team.

The SAC Joint Secretary presented individual medals to first prize winner Yangon Region team.

Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented honorary cash award and championship trophy to Yangon Region team and cordially greeted the footballers.

The U-25 football tourney was held to promote Myanmar football and produce outstanding national selections. It started on 15 March.
