Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win received a delegation led by Director of Operations of the ICRC Ms. Yasmine Praz Dessimoz and Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific of ICRC Mr. Regis Savioz at the parlour of the Office of the Chairman of the SAC in Nay Pyi Taw this afternoon.
During the meeting, they discussed the situation of damage and losses caused by the earthquake in Myanmar, rescue teams sent by 32 countries, relief items sent by other countries, urgent delivery of international aid to victims, energetic cooperation between Myanmar rescue teams and volunteers and international rescue teams, plans to continue to support relief operations by AHA Centre and 32 countries, provision of healthcare services in earthquake-hit areas by the Ministry of Health and the Myanmar Red Cross Society in cooperation with the ICRC, cooperation with relief operations and rehabilitation works of the ICRC in earthquake-hit areas.
Also present together with the Vice-Senior General were Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win, deputy ministers and officials and ICRC directors were accompanied by the ICRC resident representative for Myanmar and officials.
